Zakhar is our most recent addition to the farm. We brought him to Daisy Clipper Farms in March of 2024. He comes from Halal Mountain Horses right up the road from us in Pickens, SC. He has an incredibly inquisitive personality and loves to explore things with his mouth. He walks off with everything! Hang a flag up as an obstacle, Zakhar will pull it down. Put a heavy drag in the valley, Zakhar will pull it around by himself. Open the arena to let the horses eat some of the grass, Zakhar will play with, knock over, and chew on all the obstacles instead. His inquisitive nature will serve him well as a trail and obstacle horse. He’s also one of the most naturally gaited horses we’ve started. Zakhar was started under saddle in August of 2024 and started hitting the trails in December 2024. So far, he shows so much promise of being an incredible trail horse. He is non-reactive and a thinker. We are super excited to have a gelding who is always trail-ready so that our girls can enjoy a more restful maternity leave.
